If I'm up everyone's up!

HA! THOUGHT THEY were getting a long lie did they? No chance!

Since I am now able to get up and down the stairs no problem I have taken it upon myself to be the new household alarm clock and anyone foolish enough to leave their bedroom door ajar is in for a rude awakening.

Usually it's either my big sister or my big brother who get the first licking but the other morning my mum was the target. My dad is always first up and he lets me into the back garden to do my business but that particular morning the silly sausage neglected to properly close the bedroom door behind him and with one flying leap I was up on the bed and saying 'good morning, mum!'.

Now let's not get the wrong idea here. I'm not so heartless as to wake anyone up too early so I always wait until after I've been let out before running upstairs and letting everyone know it's time to get up.

Actually, right now I'm just practicing since it's the school holidays and nobody really needs to get up early (except dad who has to go to work) so I'm not really sure if my diligence in making sure everyone is awake is really appreciated.

Not to worry, I'm sure they will be grateful for my morning alarm call when the schools go back after the holidays!

I remember those days from when we had our one and only dog - the flying leap onto the bed and digging you out if you tried to hide under the covers!

Me too! I particularly disliked it if our dog had avoided being dried after being out in the morning rain!

This world's gone to the dogs.

A dog and/or a cat can wake you up in the morning. I personally enjoy it much more than an alarm clock. A lick is so much warmer even though it is wet...
