I Can't Seem to Get Enough - BBC's Bleak House (2005)

There is much programming. So much most everyone should be able to find something that suits him.

I have particular tastes. Required:

  1. Great acting
  2. Great filming
  3. Great music, not in excess
  4. Great yet realistic special effects
  5. Worthwhile storyline
  6. Atmosphere, perhaps with special time periods
  7. Intellectual stimulation
  8. Devoid of gross violence or sexual content, etc.

One production that certainly has all these characteristics and more is the 2005 BBC TV presentation of Charles Dickens' Bleak House . It seems I just can't get enough of it. I keep coming back. All eight bullet points are present to a superlative degree.

Have you watched it? If you like Dickens, you will love Bleak House .

I very much enjoyed the book. I don't watch any TV or films these days, except snippets of children's films when they are watching.

I do not watch TV per se. Most of it is gar-bahzh. But this series was most decidedly done to a turn. If you can ever obtain copies, I highly recommend it.

I know this is an excellent series. I started watching and for some reason when I went back to complete it, it was no longer in the database. I was so frustrated! What's even more frustrating is that it always happens to me with a Dickens' series. UUUGGG!!! I started watching another series (can't remember the name) and went back to finish it and it had vanished! Why can't they keep the series in the streaming database for a longer period of time? Like ... for forever!! I don't think I've ever watched a series based on a Dickens' work that I didn't like!

cmoneyspinner You can overcome that obstacle by downloading episodes to your hard drive. Then you will have them to watch as often as you wish. Here's the website that enables that: http://en.savefrom.net/10-how-to-download-dailymotion-video.html

I hesitate to download things to my laptop. It's second hand and my kids are tired of replacing my equipment. I have to check it more thoroughly. Thanks for this link. :)

I have a little link here for all to look at. A YouTube short trailer of an episode with Gillian Anderson, who was one of the two main characters in the Sci-Fi Drama series, The X-Files as the main character in Bleak House.
