Why There's More Science in Chocolate Than...

You're bored by science, you say? Why, science is all around you! Live with it. And you do. Consider the rather complex chemistry of chocolate...

Surely you're not bored of chocolate?

Did you know that beer, wine, and whiskey are not the only consumable products of fermentation? Or that chocolate belongs on that list? Or that the "journey" of experiencing chocolate as it should be enjoyed might include a chemistry article that includes a video you can enjoy?

And what article is that, you might ask? I thought you'd never ask. It is my article entitled,

The Manufacture and Chemistry of Chocolate

From its introductory photo of the cacao pods growing on the tree, on through its fermentation and on to the resulting cocoa powder and cocoa butter, you may ride the train of your thoughts throughout our journey into chocolate delight.

I love chocolate and had forgotten that it included fermentation in its production.

You see - my thing is this: who came up with all this in the first place? It's weird. Still, it's good for us it did happen.

I don't get bored by science and I certainly don't get bored with chocolate! emoticon

I love science. I could sit and read "The New Scientist" for hours and get nothing else done!

I think a Pink Squirrel uses a chocolate liquor. But was it actually a Grasshopper? Oh well.

But you would be so well educated in science you might enjoy it.
