U.S. Wine Tastings - Why I Won't Attend

I live in a county that seems devoted to alcoholic beverages...Nelson County, Virginia! They have a seemingly endless number of beer and wine breweries. They offer hard cider. They even have a distillery that produces quality whisky. In fact, it is called the Virginia Distillery Company (it is located right next to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Lovingston, the capital of Nelson County.

Now as one might expect, there are a multitude of wines "tastings." Although I enjoy alcohol myself, I do not attend any of these tastings. There are a number of reasons why this is so. One of them stands out. It has to do with the question of variety.

You see, I should probably have been born in the U.K., or in Spain. The reason? My favorite un-distilled beverage is never represented among the wine tastings. What is the wine of preference for me? It is SHERRY.

Sherry is a fortified wine, I am not sure what they add but it's not just plain wine.
