Does anyone still use Pinterest?

I admit, I'm not the best at using pictures on posts I just don't take enough pictures but I remember a while back everyone advised using pintererst for promotion.

I went into my old account and changed it to a business account last night but I have no idea how to get people to see it? Does anyone even still use pinterest anymore? It's been a while since I heard anyone talking about it.

I just thought it would be a nice place to show off the products from my new company since they are all so pretty.

Any thoughts? I'm also open to other promotion ideas if anyone has any, always happy to listen to any advice anyone can give me.

Hi Melody23 , yes, Pinterest is great for traffic but you MUST have pictures. Don't necessarily have to be your own, provided you have the right to use them.

I don't seem to have had a single view since I set up the page!

What is the page?

When I was actively writing posts for various places and seeking to promote them Pinterest was an excellent source of traffic as were Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus. I also used StumbleUpon and Flipboard. Stumble was quite good but Flipboard was a dead loss. The more you share it around the more traffic you will get.

Yes, stumbleupon has been mentioned elsewhere as a good source of traffic too.

I never found pinterest useful before either but I probably didn't give it enough time

Stumble used to be really good, but then they changed their rules and it became harder, especially because they limit the amount of posts from the same domain you can stumble - no use for blogs or sites like this one. Some of my persona paper posts are on there though

The trick with Stumbleupon is to promote other people's work as well. I found that a ratio of one of mine to 9-10 of other people's didn't lead to any problems and of course if you share theirs they will share yours.

very true, although back when it was really popular it was difficult to find something that hadn't already been stumbled by someone else! It is easier now mind you. A forum I belong to has a thread for stumbling each other's blog posts which seems to be doing reasonably well. I used to do for every one of my things I added, I would add three of someone elses but they need to come from a different domain than yours do now too. I also went through and removed a lot of stuff from my stumble page because a whole lot of sites have shut down since I started on there

Hello, I'm just curious, does Persona actually pay? I ask this since I get no response from their admin dept. Regards, Andre.

It is unusual not to get an answer from MegL currently the site is not paying, I'm sure there is a post explaining this in more detail somewhere I will try to find it for you

Hi TranquilPen , the admin contact doesn't go anywhere at present. No, the site does not pay at present, I am trying to build up the numbers of visitors and the quality and number of posts. Once those are at a reasonable level, I will start looking for advertising. If I can find that, then it will be worthwhile paying to get the code updated and the site back into full swing again. But unless visitor numbers increase to a point where advertisers want to pay money to appear on the site, then there is no point in updating the code. The site works well with the original code, as written by elitecodex . The people on the site at present have enjoyed writing here in the past and are keeping it going in hopes it can be built back up again. Thanks Melody23 for tagging me.
