Now The City of Dallas has a new app. The Sanitation App for android and other mobile devices.

People often forget when and what to put out for trash collection day.

For this reason I am posting this to let those who live in a large city, Dallas or any other for that matter to check with their local sanitation department in their area to find out if there is a mobile app for them to get the exact information on what to put out, when to put out trash, bulk trash, recycling trash and whatever else so they do not have to guess about it.

The Link for Dallas Sanitation to find out more.

I for one had to deal with a recent issue in putting out bulk brush trash, cuttings from the back yard alley fence and areas nearby. I put out bulk organic cuttings to the curb a day later than the City of Dallas requires me to do so without having to pay a penalty for doing so.

I called the City of Dallas via 311 and was informed that if I place bulk trash out, the 4th Monday week of each month, I am supposed to have it out there ahead of schedule. In my case It had to be out there on the sidewalk by the street curb for pickup no later than the Monday of that week prior to the exact time of 7:30 AM.

Since I had put things out on a Tuesday, a day later than required, I had to then put it all back in the driveway against the fence to wait until the next month, and this time I am going to put it out on Thursday evening, the end of the week prior to pick up week. That way I have no problem worrying about it.

Bulk Trash Pick Up times vary from early in the week of bulk trash pickup time and later on near the end of the week of pickup time.

This is the reason I find it necessary to keep up with proper days, dates and times of each month, just to make sure I don't miss the TIME FRAME window to put things out ON TIME.

An app is handy for that. I just write it on my calendar.

An app a day keeps the headaches away.
