Chocolate Teapot

Epithet

Have you heard the saying, "About as much use as a chocolate teapot"? It certainly has been in use in the UK for between 30 and 40 years, if not longer and apparently originated as a football epithet for supporters to hurl at the referee or a player if they didn't like what they were doing.

It refers to something that might be decorative but is useless for the intended purpose. (Because chocolate generally melts when heat is applied, so no use for keeping your tea warm until it is brewed and ready to drink!)

Slotless Piggybank

While I could have used a picture of a chocolate teapot, I have chosen one of a piggy bank with no slot because that is how I feel about the business credit card my bank supplied. I have sent them off a very angry email today. I didn't use the term "as useful as a piggy bank with no coin slot" because I only thought of it after I sent it. :D (Isn't that always the way?) But also I could not find any photos I could use of a chocolate teapot but there were plenty of pictures of piggybanks.

Can't Be Topped Up!

The business credit card they supplied cannot be topped up mid month! What use is that? I have the money available in the business account but it cannot be transferred to the credit card to buy products. USELESS.

Looking For A New Business Credit Card

While I have written to them to complain, I am also looking to take my business elsewhere. The business may be small but it is growing and I would rather spend my time working on the business than having to spend time complaining about useless products!

Hmm. This sounds bad. I hope you can get your tea pot made of brass and certainly deserve a piggy bank with a slot in it! Try these links below:
