Advertising is not easy

I consider myself a pretty tech savvy person. I have been working online for years and have multiple gadgets and gizmos that don't phase me one bit. So I was a bit shocked to find that creating Bing adverts was something I would find impossible.

The world of internet promotion is certainly not new to me, I have been promoting a variety of blogs/websites online for the last decade or more. However I have never even been tempted to run Bing ads, that was until I got a £75 voucher emailed to me recently.

I decided to give Bing ads a go, I registered, set everything up and started creating my ad when it told me that the web address I wanted the ad to link to was too long. I had no idea how to solve this problem, I cannot shorten my websites address in any way so I got frustrated and left it.

A few days ago I got an email from a nice Welsh man (I can tell by his name) who introduces himself as my 'personal account manager' he says he can see I started working on my ads but gave up and asks if I want help. I emailed him back and told him that my web address doesn't fit so I couldn't continue the process. He tells me it fits just fine and he has made me some example ads to have a look at.

The example ads are pretty good, just a few minor changes needed so I emailed him back and told him I would edit them and set them up. Only I cant find them in my account to edit them and I cannot simply copy them into a new ad because surprise surprise, my web address is too long!

I give up! I will stick to methods I understand to promote my website from now on I think.

That business NEEDS feedback from people like you because they have obviously not thoroughly tested their system with REAL users, as opposed to their own tech staff. That kind of thing annoys me because they have not thought it through and tested it..

He wants to set up a phone appointment with me but to be honest I cant really be bothered with that. I know I really should but I really cant be bothered, I just want something simple and easy to use - like facebook ads, those are super easy to create monitor and understand

He wants to set up a phone appointment so he can persuade you to spend more than you intend!

Oh, I am not doing it. I hate talking to people on the phone for the most part anyway

Usually, it is just a waste of time, so you're better off not doing it! Just my 2p anyway. :)
