An Overview of Twitter Marketing

Unless you have been living under a rock, then you already know that Twitter is the mega-popular microblogging platform that allows you to share your thoughts and your life in under 140 characters. However, Twitter does not only help you to share with those that you love, but it can also be an important tool for small business marketing teams eager to reach a broader audience. The following is an overview of Twitter marketing that can help you to better utilize its power for your small business' needs.

Words Count

When you only have 140 characters to make a statement, every word counts. Incorporate one or two keywords that pertain to your business to attract more traffic from those seeking what you offer.

Be Useful

If you are merely promotional, you will lose your following quick. Offer information that matters to your audience while still being authentic to your brand story.

Respond

Be timely in responding to followers. This shows that you care and are plugged into what matters to your audience.

Develop a Voice

Sticking with one "voice" for your social media platforms across the board will help to give you form a recognizable image. Think about what you offer and the audience it attracts. Use the voice that you think will best speak to them.

Using Twitter to market your small business can help you to connect with new and important people who care about what you offer. Taking the time to make your Twitter account authentic and useful will make all the difference in your response... and the financial return that you get because of it.

Twitter traffic is still pretty good, not as good as it used to be but still pretty good. I do ok with just under 900 followers
