Google is a Secured Site HTTPS means Hypertext Transfer Protocol - Secured.

HTTPS is an acronym for a secured site.

If you by mistake, type in the wrong URL address to get to a site like Google and get directed to a FAKE google lookalike site, which could happen, always look if you have to guess if you typed the correct URL in the search box of your web browser.

I can type the URL address for google and the browser will open up the https google site, letting me know that I am at the right place. I can bookmark sites like Google so that way I will not have to type in the long string of characters that lead me to it's main URL address.

Practice perfect Protocols

Keep a word document made up of all of your favorite online domains like google and pinterest and bing and maybe even webcrawler. Make sure each URL is perfect. This is good to keep in hard copy in a file box handy.

It's a good idea to keep your own list of regular sites you visit. then you KNOW you are getting the right place.
