I have been so super busy these last few months. Mum hasn't been well and I have started thinking a lot about the future and what I am going to do when things get worse.
I would like to work less, I don't want to give up my job because I love it but I honestly don't have the time to sleep some weeks with everything I have going on so being able to work less would be nice. I am an only child and my mother is very sick and also doesn't live particularly nearby, I need to be more available.
It got me thinking a lot about bringing in more money, because frankly I cant afford to work any less than I currently do. The money is simply not in writing any more. I used to do pretty well freelancing but I wouldn't waste my time these days with the amount of time and effort you need to put in for what little you get out. Plus I was finding clients increasingly more difficult to deal with (once a guy I had written loads of stuff for sent me an email chastising me for not replying to him about fifteen minutes after he sent his original email, I was in the middle of a twelve hour shift at the time) and I hate what they have done with oDesk since it changed to UpWork so I have no intention of going back.
I was attracted to freelance writing because I really wanted to work for myself, of course when you freelance you are never truly working for yourself - you work for your clients, however annoying they might be. I got to thinking about working for myself again.
I decided to set up my Forever Living business, one of my friends does it and makes a fortune and she has no experience whatsoever in marketing. I have a sales background (I was one of those annoying people that knock on your door trying to get you to donate to charity for a while), a marketing qualification and a tonne of internet marketing experience so it seems like a great fit for me.
While my friend runs her business mostly face to face, I have concentrated almost entirely on the online side of things. I have set up a wordpress site where I blog about the products and the business and have a facebook and Instagram account set up for the business. I have put a tonne of work into promoting my new business and that's why I haven't been online elsewhere much over the last few weeks.
I love my new business, I love the products and I love the people, but it has taken up a lot of my time while I get everything up and running. This should settle down now that everything is up and running.
