I am off work for 21 days!

So I am now on my two weeks annual leave, which actually amounts to 21 days off work with the way my shifts have worked out.

I have a few things planned. I was at mums today to deal with some visitors she had coming, I plan on going to Costco and using my fancy new American express card tomorrow, I then have a few days with not much planned before going to the safari park next Wednesday.

I have been promising mum for the last few years I would take her but its just not practical with her lack of mobility. However she was finally talked into getting a wheelchair and it arrives on Tuesday so there is no stopping us. We are going to take mum and her friend that does her cleaning and shopping along with her almost 2 year old which should be all sorts of fun.

I plan to spend a lot of time sorting out some mundane things like our finances. I did a reshuffle a few months ago and got a loan out to pay the cards off stuff like that. At the same time I also opened a joint account for us, one that pays cashback on certain things. However I have never gotten around to moving all the bills over to that account and sorting out how much we need to pay in, I must sort that out this week along with cancelling all the now paid off credit cards.

I am going to read a book and spend a lot of time writing and sorting out my promotion stuff. I have a lot of old twitter links I need to delete, I started a new list with just the ones I still want but I probably have some stuff on that list that I actually would still want to promote. I also need to add my Niume articles to the lists, I am doing pretty well there actually. So far I have found food to be my best paying category and one of my healthcare articles has not only been featured, but tweeted out by the site itself.

If you want to join me on Niume, feel free to kick start your earnings by joining through my referral if you sign up with an email address we will both get $1 when you submit your first post. Minimum payout there is only $10 so it wont take long to get there. I am now only writing here and on Niume, I very occasionally update my blog but I am losing heart for it if I am honest. I want to write somewhere that I don't need to work extraordinarily hard to see any results like hubpages where I need to borderline design my own webpage every time I want to write something and I earn next to nothing for my time. I want to concentrate my efforts here because I love it here so much, but I also want somewhere that I can bring in some money. The combination of here and Niume will do that for me I hope.

Doing what you love in a place that works for you will produce the best results. Enjoy your holiday and the visit to the safari park. emoticon

I earn about 10 dollars a month extra for posting discussions at It is actually a lot like what Bubblews was once before. I have written a few hubs but the reason I like myLot as well as Persona Paper is the feedback I get. That and I get to share at Facebook and Twitter and Pinterest.

It absolutely will. I am actually really looking forward to the safari park, I have been once a number of years ago but no one else that is going has ever been. They have also just had a baby rhino born there which is pretty cool.

I just don't like that I need to mess about with all those capsule thingys over at hubpages. I know several writers who do really well there and have done for a number of years but I just don't like the format at all. I believe I have written something like half a dozen hubs in all the time I have been there because I just don't like it

I feel exactly the same about Hubpages - there's something about it that just doesn't sit right with me. We haven't been to Blair Drummond for ages but I hear it can be quite expensive to get in nowadays.

I know a lot of very good writers who make a decent income there but I have never liked the format and now that they are splitting into separate sites it echos the death of helium for me because that is the point at which it all started going wrong over there too.

Blair Drummond is quite expensive if there are a lot of people going, we have four adults and an under three. its £14 odd each adult if you buy online and the under 3 goes free. however they do disabled entry tickets since two of the adults qualify for them they go for £7 odd pence each and there is a possibility that me and the other adult might be able to get carers tickets which are also £7. I don't think its bad for the money really when you consider that you can easily spend the whole day there

21 days two weeks. If my calculation is wrong, it should be three weeks is 21 days. Anyway, I wish you all the best for that vacation.

But when you work three days a week you can take six days holiday and get 22 days off if your shifts work out right: you work Monday Tuesday Wednesday then finish up for the week giving you four days off - you then take your two weeks holiday - you then return to work on the Friday of the week after giving you Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday off before you go back - I returned to work on the Thursday so I had 21 days off for two weeks holiday
