Mystery 2 of the Thumbnail Mystery Series: How the Bee Doth Sting

Well, I've started something. I've decided to write technology-related short mysteries - thumbnail mysteries. Likely they won't all be spectacular entries, but even Earle Stanley Gardner and Agatha Christie had to start somewhere.

I do hope you will find the short mystery, How the Bee Doth Sting at least mildly entertaining. If not, then perhaps the writing is at least not bottom rung?

I intend to wrack my brain and do my research to someday come up with a superior Thumbnail Mystery 3. Here is the link, then. Have at it! Spill your guts below, no matter how much you may hate it.

Till, then, then.... Thumbnail Mystery 2: How the Bee Doth Sting

This was a good idea, though I preferred thumbnail mystery 1. I think the meal is a red herring or else it just doesn't add to the story. Certainly, the wide open windows give a clue to how the deadly deed will happen. The miniature drone certainly exists (or will shortly). I like your idea of critical mass emulation, though I don't know how it would be done, maybe with lasers? May I suggest a slight change? In order to make the meal play an actual part in the explosion, maybe part of the critical mass could be in a pepper pot or salt cellar or something? Maybe just the last part (tickling the dragon's tail, I think it used to be called) could be delivered by drone?

Yes, looking back, it could have been done better.

All I can say is watch out for that electrical fly swatter! Tiny atom bombs is a scary thing to imagine. I hope no one develops such technology.
