Not Going Out - Gas Shortage? Or Something Else?

Yesterday evening, I visited a small gathering following a funeral to support a friend of the family. My wife uttered the words before my departure, "Be sure to get $15 at the gas station." I figured I'd pick it up afterward, since I pass the station on the way home.

Part way home, the gas reserve light cut on. No problem. I only had about 10 miles to go and the reserve was some 35 miles. Only...

Only I went to the first gas station and every pump handle was covered by a plastic bag, indicating it was either not functioning or out of gas. That was bothersome! Fortunately, there was one more station on the way home, so I went there. Ditto!

I immediately came home, having a mere 27 miles reserve left. We didn't some searching, and they tie it all in with this pipeline fiasco. Hm.

So if my wife has to go out, she has to call immediately ahead of time to make sure the store will have gas.

That's always very worrying when you are at the bottom of the tank. I ran out once, never again!

wow. I haven't even checked the pumps in Dallas. We will need a fill up at the end of the week. Better start my own looking ahead of time.

Fortunately, the next day they had gas. But the idea that might occur didn't cheer me up at the time...

And what's next? Will this encourage solar or electric or other forms of energy or just make prices at the pump simply go way up? And for that matter, who is actually behind it all?
