late speech without any cause

Dear Friends,

If your child is under the age of two years and the child seems to be

developing normally in other aspects, for example , in understanding

physical skills, you need not worry about speech development.

Late development of speech in a child of this age is normal.

Many children, especially boys and only children, start talking late in the second year.

Get into the habit of talking to your child about daily activities.

Keep them into the company of other toddlers from whome they can pick up speech and confidence.

If your child is speaking not more than two words at the end of two years ,

consult a doctor or speech therapist.

Meera and Megha started telling words in tender age , but started speaking, after two years.

Don't worry.

Every child develops differently and at a different pace so you are right and if they are behind, often putting pressure on them will make it worse. This is typically true for things like toilet training too.
