Emergency vehicles have been going non stop all day since early this Mother's Day morning.

This morning while my wife and I went out to get some items for the Mother's Day dinner we witnessed a two car collision and I phoned it in. The 911 dispatcher told me it had already been called in. Then we were on our way to one store to buy a few items and there had been another fender bender near that store.

Today, there have been at least 2 accidents within a half mile radius of our house and tonight there were 7 police cars going fast one after the other headed West then a few minutes later some police cars zoomed by our house going back East. I looked but didn't see anything down the street in either direction.

We got two messages from my wife's kids today, Both had called to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and we were gone the first time and fixing to go to sleep when her son called. So at least 2 of her children took out time to call and wish their mother a Happy Mother's Day.

I wanted to buy her some chocolate covered strawberries but they were too expensive, about 17 dollars for 5 strawberries and an assortment of a few marshmallows with chocolate and peanuts and other goodies. But no. I could have bought 2 dozen roses for that price.

Meanwhile we had a nice dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes and brown gravy with creamed corn and hot dinner rolls. I had 2 coffees and later we had a slice of Boston Creme Cake. Yum Yum. So the day was okay for us. We watched Madam Secretary and later on will be watching Mr. Selfridge with Jeremy Piven on PBS.
