Fire & Ice
fire & ice
Funny that the earth is cold on the north and south poles but down deep into the planet it is as hot as the sun, molten and bubbling hot with lava and nickel-iron in it's core while we fight back and forth over the argument that the world is getting warmer when it's funny that some places on earth are having record breaking cold snow and ice storms and other areas are having below normal temperatures.
Of course there are facts to deal with:
1. Global CO2 emissions are on the increase. This is a known fact. Also more carbon dioxide, the hotter it can get as warm air remains under the dome of the atmosphere instead of being dissipated into space.
2. Population growth is on the increase. This is going faster than expected. Life spans average at 76 years more or less and human population is on the rise in spite of the lack of resources to sustain human life in proportion to this increase.
3. We are still looking for energy sources that will cause a further increase in CO2 emissions.
The oceans are getting warmer and this can cause rising levels at locations around continents and islands and places like Florida and Italy for instance, which are close to sea level already and more rising of global water levels will cause some permanent flooding of sea level areas near oceans and seas.
What is being done to reverse or put a halt to this madness? Are we doomed to rising planet temperatures, stronger storms and more widespread pandemics of disease and starvation?
I don't have many answers but I am sure there must be some out there, beyond the fire and the ice of my day dreams.
