Going Under

I was doing some spring cleaning (of my email box) and ran across some mail related to this place. Firstly the site can keep my coins as that money does not matter to me.

The "another one bites the dust" scenario is all too familiar to me. I can still recall getting online with Compuserve in the DOS days.

I met my wife online playing backgammon on Compuserve a long time ago.

Playing Doom in the game connection was a lot of fun and you really got to know people.

Card games on CRIS.COM playing NetSpades.

INN (The ImagiNation Network) was a real community.

Lunatix online is a spot where I made some very good friends.

Epeople, webanswers, bubble-ooze, were all fun and profitable for a time.

Things come and go and there is both joy and sadness enough to spare.

One thread that winds through all flash in the pan operations is failure to adapt. As soon as your business plan is written in stone is when it's time to scrap it. Enterprises both large and small must continuously adapt to meet the ever-changing needs of a society with a short attention span.

I have been in business for 33 years in the same location and one thing I know for sure is you have to keep fresh talent with new ideas flowing in your door to stay alive.

My father preached "make a plan and stick to it" and that worked in his day but will not cut it in the future.
