Age before Beauty? What a concept.

Beauty is a subject I know a lot about. But ugliness I know a lot more, that is the ugliness in people's hearts.

Wisdom comes with age but as we age our youthfulness falls.

Can you see beauty in an elderly person who has lived a very long life who's health is failing and who's seen more than their fair share of trials and tribulation?

If you look at a person and all you can see is their imperfections then it is you who is blind.

I have seen people who I think are beautiful who think themselves ugly. If you were afflicted with one blind eye or one prosthetic leg would you feel any less beautiful? God loves all of us, in spite of our imperfections, young and old alike. Rich or poor, healthy or dying.

The word ugly is not part of my vocabulary but, when I see beauty I appreciate it. If God thought we were not worthy due to all our flaws then He would just end our lives in a wink of an eye.

The theory of perfection is that perfect symmetry and smooth surfaces and bright colors make for the formula of beauty. I have seen beauty in a patch of wild weeds with ants crawling all about it's base. I am lucky I have eyes to see. And I don't take them for granted.

Try to look at things from God's perspective. Remember that nothing is forever. Everything must pass. Only God can bring back the dead. Beauty is relative. You can spend your life looking for fault in all things, but that would make your soul a very ugly thing indeed.

My gfandmother used to say "handsome is as handsome does". She never explained the meaning to me but I understood it to mean that the beautiful ones are those who DO something beautiful.
