Hear I sit, listening to Traffic ... low spark album that is.

It's been a tiring and anxiety provoking week. For one thing, that darn Cadillac of ours! It has a bad sense of timing. No more than an hour after finally putting on the other 2 new Goodyear tires, We drive it home and I open up the trunk to put the spare tire inside.

The lid opened normally and I placed that spare tire, without a rim, into the trunk but what do my wondering eyes see? The darn pull down motor stopped working.

Oh well, it's just another thing to add to my to do list. I fiddled with the thing, trying to get it to come up so I could shut the trunk lid and then I would of course expect it to pull down the trunk lid. Nothing happened. I was dumbfounded!

Have you had one of those days?

Well, after connecting an extension cord to the AC outlet in the house and running it out the front door to connect to yet another extension cord and then I plugged in an electric hair dryer. Yea, I thought the hot air might get the thing to start acting normally again. Still no luck. After just a while later I was rather apathetic about the whole situation. I tried to take off the shroud that covers the motor at the front edge of the trunk but even after doing that the edge where it connects to the rim of the outer trunk edge it just wouldn't budge. I was not going to force it off!

Then out of nowhere the pull down motor thing a ma dozy came up all by itself. I was happy. Yea boy. I was able to shut the lid down but what next? The dumb pull down motor would not pull down already! This meant that for now we can drive the car at least. The fact that there is a crack in the trunk because it is not pulled down all the way will not change unless by some miracle the mindless trunk lid pull down motor will decide on it's own to pull the lid all the way down. That hasn't happened yet. The fact is, I don't know enough about worm gears and switches but I do know this ... $231.00 plus tax and shipping and handling will take care of it for me.

But I haven't seen that much money going out of my bank in a long time.

I need to sell my articles for raw cash. I will have to make an ebook and sell many copies then perhaps my money will appear as if by sheer magic and then I can pay for a new trunk pull down motor. Meantime I have to wait until my March check to order the motor from A M A Z O N.

My car is ungrateful. I was going to get the brakes put on next month but I have to put that off until the month of April. I guess it's okay to wait 48 more days for that. In under 25 days I will order the pull down motor thing a ma derky. Our Caddy is acting up. It isn't happy with 4 new Goodyear tires! It wants a complete makeover starting with a new pull down mota!

How talented you are that you can fix things like that

It's more problem with trying to locate spare parts that I store away for later not to mention finding my screwdriver thingamadoozer!

Old cars get like that and the more complex they are, the harder they are to fix. They should have kept producing basic cars that ordinary people can fix and keep going (safely).

You know better. They want high turnover, planned obsolescence. They deliberately stop stocking car parts after 10 years or so or charge high premiums for them just to get more money. The same goes for almost all things we buy. Television sets, computers, toasters, and yes, coffee makers!

This is the first time I've ever heard there is a site for seeing how well your article title might do. I will have to check it out.

I hope your Caddy starts behaving itself better.

Yes indeed.

Temperamental 21 year old Caddy. I think It expects me to just replace things to keep me from spending money on fast food. I haven't had a burger at my favorite burger joint in a few months since we have been buying new tires and such for our White 4 Wheeled Got your money monster.
