I am going to start crocheting blankets for elderly
I seen in the paper the other day that the health fair that the town is having for the senior citizens are in need of blankets to give to the elderly.
Since I love to knit and crochet I think I am going to start crocheting blankets to give to them next year. Most of the tine they are given cheap blankets that are bought from the store. Don't get me wrong. Anything is better then nothing. But I think older people might enjoy the effort it takes to to make a blanket and feel more appreciative to get one.
I have seen people get crocheted items. And look at it like why would I want this. I have even overheard someone say that it was a cheap way to go just so they wouldn't have to buy anything from the store.
So I think I will make blanket to give to the elderly. It will be awesome to see a smile on their faces.

We have a patchwork quilt over our bed that my wife was given by her oldest son, called "Starburst Design" It is based on a much older tradition that dates back over a hundred years. Auctioned for 75.00 at an auction in Canton, TX. back in 1972. I am sure those elderly folk will appreciate your donations of hand made blankets.

What a great idea! It is not common here to do such things! I mean, we do crochet and knit! What I mean is that it's not common to give things to the eldest, and I find it such a good thing! And giving them blankets crocheted by you is so nice from you! I like crocheting - whenever I have time I do crochet! - and I know crocheting is time consuming!

A hand-crocheted item is a lot of labour. It shows care. In the UK, some hospitals are now asking for "twiddle mittens" for dementia patients. They are small and easy to knit and maybe a smaller item to make for someone who doesn't have much time. You can get a pattern of the internet.

You might want to make sure the object of your attention would be an appreciative person. There's nothing worse than a labor of love tossed aside!
