No New Members?

The last member listed in the Member is maashellee . That member has no Introductory post and we all know that the requirements to be approved to participate at this site is an Intro post.

My past experience with another similar community and … ??? … never confirmed it, but it looked like the site was hacked.

It would be nice for this social community to continue to grow. There have been no new since this person's listing in the directory, a month ago. This seems odd to me. Is this a “problem indicator”?

Wishing this community, as a whole, and the individual members, continued success!

2016 and beyond!

If writers are expecting to earn hundreds or even thousands of dollars by writing on this site then that would be enough reason for there being so few new members. But all writing sites start off small and earn little and as they grow in membership over time they increase their earning power. But like all things that do well and flourish, time is the best measure of success.

lookatdesktop is right, small acorns and all that. Just keep plugging away and help it to grow

Maasahellee joined December 23 and one of only 5 newbies for December. Not good but perhaps a result of the holidays. I am thinking the January list hasn't been updated yet.

I do not know about this. I found a site that I really like and enjoy writing for and I am making progress towards my first payout. I agree with you sites like this take time and I hope it is wrong if this site was hacked as you say.

cmoneyspinner - I think it's a symptom of admin's disinterest in the site. There has been little contact with them for quite some time. elitecodex last logged in on 6 January and MaeLou on 12 October. They are even silent on PP's Official Facebook Page despite members posting there about difficulties with the site. This doesn't mean they aren't keeping an eye on the site - logging in isn't necessary to read what is being posted - but it could be the reason no new members have appeared on our membership roll because they have to be approved by admin. Whatever the reason it is most disappointing.

I'm thinking that the holidays contributed to this. Hoping that this January we see an influx of new members. It would definitely help if we'd hear from the site owners and administrators.

My guess would be they deleted the post after it got approved.

I also do check for new members and welcome them here. I hope that we have new members coming this year.

Kasman - Ditto on the words "disinterest" and "disappointing". The members are so nice here. But I keep thinking I'm gonna wake up one day and everything will have "disappeared" with no warning. It's very "distressing". Makes you wonder if behind the scenes, discontinuation discussions are going on. More "dis" words. Thanks Mr. K. You totally get me! :)

cmoneyspinner - You may well be correct. I don't believe they will simply shut up shop and leave us high and dry without at least paying what members are due (although if we assume that every member is due just one dollar that is over $1500!) but PP has already changed hands once and, considering the lack of time our current admin have to invest in the site (life does tend to get in the way, doesn't it!), they may well be looking for an easy way out and it could change hands again. The site does have potential but it needs an investment of time from its admin. Unfortunately, with no contact from them nor any indication as to their intentions for the site we can only speculate.
