Old Journey Concert

My husband found an old Journey concert on Youtube and is watching it as I type this. It was a concert that they did in Tokyo Japan in 1981. This is bringing back memories of this hard rock band. I recognize all the songs and Steve Perry was at his height of hotness. I was 17 years old in 1981 and I remember my Sister and I had this big crush on Steve Perry! Ha ha. We not only thought he was cute, we thought he could really sing.

One thing is interesting about the rock band Journey that I didn't realize until about three years ago is that, They started in the early 1970s and started out without Steve Perry as the lead singer. I forget who did the lead singing, but thanks to the greatness of Youtube, you can search the original Journey and they have songs from them from that early period. I thought the songs from that early time was very good.

You and your sister also wished your name was "Sherrie" - right? I remember it was originally composed of members from other groups; Santana was one of them, I think. By the way, that was always what I perceived to be the strength of YouTube; i.e., the ability to preserve that which would be lost due to a lack of perceived, profit potential or similar issues.

I never liked Journey and could never figure out why women loved Steve Perry. You Tube is great for finding vintage concert footage.
