Life is What You Make It

Do you wonder what life is all about? Do you thinker on the idea of people, friends or relatives still remember you when you are gone?

When friends or known people die, I wonder why some people do not realize that life is so short that we are given just enough or just little time to make the best of it; to leave a lasting legacy for which people can remember you for. Some chose to be remembered being notorious; being known for the negative things they had done their whole life. They led a life of selfishness, of arrogance and thirst for money and power.

Some people die early but their short existence on earth left a sweet memory. Their lives became inspiration to others because they had shown what a good human being should be. Many shed tears wishing he/she had lived so many years so he could still share so many good deeds. Their names will never be forgotten as if they had written it on the sky!

These are my thoughts as the new year comes, and when news of a certain person passing away. It is for us to choose the way people will remember us.

I do remember Fox News reporter Geraldo Rivera speaking to Bill O'Reilly on the O'Reilly Factor that "we all have one reputation." The topic of the interview was the raunchy behavior of the kids who were acting like crazies at Spring Break in Florida.

I have often thought about what you mention above, people who die young but left a sweet memory and their lives become an inspiration.

Actually I think it is stupid to live a life just for the sake of letting others remember us. I do not care about it. I just hope that in my lifetime, I have a peaceful existence

You have really written something which can be an excellent food for thought. Being Human can be the best way to be remembered - irrespective of caste, color, creed ...... so on...

Thanks, nitsbubb for your reply. Yes, life is short and we have to make use of it in good ways.

Parents have a big responsibility in molding their children. If they are too busy doing it, they should spare little time to talk with their children, or they should be good role models as well. Thanks for the reply, Deepizzaguy .

There are people who passed away so young, some in their fruitful working years, but they had achieved so much for their family and friends to always remember them for. Thanks for your reply, LeaPea2417 .

I respect your opinion, but it is nice to live that life of peaceful coexistence. Thanks for your reply,@scheng1.

I think what improtant is you live life knowing and accepting that there is a God and that is Jesus who died and overcome the grave for all of us to have eternal life... and how we can be remembered is just a reward of God on how we use our lives worshiping him and live life according to his standards that give great influence to other people to live life in the fullest while obeying Christ and not destroying themselves.
