Rick Perry Develops Foot-In-Mouth Disease Again
I'm usually a proud Texan, except when one of our futile ... er... fearless leaders puts his foot in it. This time it was the beloved Rick-The-Dick Perry, the (thankfully) lame duck Governor of Texas. You may remember that Ricky-poo brought much shame, embarassment, and derision to our state during his (again thankfully) abortive attempt to run for President in 2012. He flubbed on debates and was so far right that even some Teabaggers ... er ... Tea-Partiers were wondering what he was thinking.
Rick's latest political faux pas was to equate homosexuality with alcoholism. The exact quote was, "Whether or not you feel compelled to follow a particular lifestyle or not, you have the ability to decide not to do that. I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way."
Where did he choose to make this statement? Was it in his home state or some other equally "red" location? No, he chose to make this questionable-at-best statement in ...wait for it ... SAN FRANCISCO!
I'm embarassed, astounded, and mortified to think that he "represents" Texas. For the moment I'm ashamed to be called a Texan.
