Wednesday Writing Prompt for December 23, 2015

The prompt for today is: Santa

This is what I wrote:

As I sat down to write up my prompt for this week, I wondered, Is there anything special coming up I could base a prompt off of ? Well, I was obviously going to do something Christmas related, but what? After debating prompts of presents, or Christmas movies, or Christmas meals, I finally settled on Santa.

I can’t remember when I found out about Santa, but my most … “memorable” Santa memory is only from six or seven years ago. At the time, I lived not far from a big bookstore. There were a few groups I was in that met there, and I would also go there to do some writing in the café and then go browse the books. Well, one day I was there and Santa had shown up for the kids. I was on the second floor and saw him going down the escalator. He had the beard, suit, boots, everything, but what was weird was it was a thin, Richard Simmons sized Santa. And that’s … just wrong. I know obesity is a problem and all that, but you shouldn’t be able to break Santa over your knee.
