Good morning on the eve of Christmas Eve

It is 5:30 a.m. and I have been up since 1:30. I am exhausted, but cannot seem to sleep, so I am going to get up and likely take a nap this afternoon.

The weather for the next few days does not look like snow tomorrow, but we will definitely have rain these next few days, with a chance of thunderstorms.

Last night, I went to the commissary to pick up a couple of dozen eggs to do some baking, if I can get to it. If not, I will do so after Christmas to share for the rest of the month. That is the beauty of holiday baking.

I also went to the base exchange (department store) to find some Christmas ornaments for the packages I give. I always give a new ornament each year to certain people. This year, I was able to get ornaments at half-price the exchange's cost. One of the ornaments had a $10 suggested retail price; exchange price was $5.99. My cost: $3.00, and they do not charge tax. Even though the selection was limited, I found many ornaments that will suffice for the package tag ornaments that will hang on next year's tree.

Heading to the shower, then to dress. I want to be busy by 7 a.m. At least, I hope to be drinking my first cup of coffee for the day.

Sounds like you have your plans set and ready to accomplish what you need to do. The ornaments sound like a good deal.

There were some great ones. Now I just have to get them inscribed and on the packages.

Good afternoon, Coral! By now you've got everything on your ToDo list done, right? emoticon  I slept in this morning, guessing my dog didn't want to walk in the rain! Short day of work, though I am on call for deliveries this afternoon and if a pair of extra hands are needed tonight, lol. I love the ornament idea and it's great you got a good deal on them.

HaHa! RuthCox You are kidding with that question, right? Hardly.

What kind of work do you do?

I was up at five this morning and am nearly exhausted now. I don't want to go to sleep this early and I certainly don't want to get up at five tomorrow morning.

Sounds like you had a long day today!! Hope it was fun!

Well, I hope you at least got your nap crossed off your list, CoralLevang

I am an all around food service worker in a family owned pizza and sub shop and I deliver during the day, too.

You are very fortunate to be able to get such good deals on ornaments at the BX.

CoralLevang wrote on December 24, 2015, 5:37 AM

There are great deals everywhere right now. Some better deals out in town, even better than the NEX/BX.
