It MAY Be A Slow Writing Week

I had to change the title around a bit, because “MAY” is going to be the keyword here. I’m not going to try to hit my weekly quota because...well, I’m being realistic lol. It’s the week of Christmas so things are going to slow down in the freelance writing world. I just want to do the best I can and attempt to have a decent cash out on Thursday night.

I was going to try to start my work week a little early, since I barely wrote on Friday, but ehhh, it was just slow. There wasn’t anything on the job board that caught my eye. I know I shouldn’t be picky, but I already had a headache (which I literally dealt with all day), so I wasn’t up to doing anything out of the usual orders/clients. Needless to say, I wound up not starting a day early.

When I logged online today, I saw that I had 15 direct orders from one of my favorite clients. The orders are short product descriptions -usually revolving around toys and collectibles- and I enjoy the work. So there is my batch of work for today. I plan on writing this client later tonight to remind them I am available tomorrow and Wednesday. We already talked about my holiday schedule. :)

Sooo, work may be slow this week. I may not receive any more direct orders, and I may not find as much to do on the board but a few things here and there. Then again, I may receive those direct orders and I may grab an order or two off the job board. I don’t know what will happen, so it may or may not be slow. I didn’t think I would even receive direct orders during the week of Christmas, so my writing week is a little busier than I thought it would be lol.

My goal is to write today, tomorrow and some of Wednesday, and then I’m gonna spend the rest of Wednesday and of course Thursday getting ready for the big day. :)

P.S. - I’ll talk about it in another post at a later date, but the reason I wasn’t on Saturday was because I went to a surprise birthday party for my best friend. I wasn’t specific on those plans because I didn’t want her to risk clicking through my Gratitude Challenge links and finding out haha.

Alrighty, I’m getting back to work. Happy Holidays, everyone! Whether you celebrate or not, I hope you enjoy your week! :)

I can understand it being a slower writing week for a lot of us on here, with all the Christmas holiday activities.

I hope work picks back up to its usual pace for you after the holidays are past.

Hi Viper! since you always mention "quota" and "cashout".. don't you want to give us a tip for your next post how to really focus and prepartion or whatever to really do your work online and hit quota and get paid... or how to start up a freelance writing because I know not only me but a lot of people out there would want to know how. Thank you in advance and God bless.

Well the quota thing is something I set for myself; to make $100 or more a week. It's not anything set by the other websites or clients. There is no secret to getting started; you just read through the websites to learn what they want and apply/submit a sample, and then from there you can start on your freelance writing. I am mainly active at Textbroker, Zerys and Writer Access.

Thanks, everything went fine! It's been a little slow with writing the past two weeks, but it was expected. I hope you had a great holiday!

Yep, I think a lot of people were probably busy. I still have my WWE event tomorrow and then New Years Eve/Day. :)

Very true, and I did enjoy the time with my loved ones. :)

Thanks! I'm sure it will, and I don't think it'll be this week, so hopefully by Jan. 4th things will go back to normal.
