Dog Walking In Chilly Weather

At 8 AM AccuWeather.com reported the temperature here in Canal Winchester, Ohio at 25 degrees, saying it "Feels like 15." No matter the weather, a dog's gotta do what a dog's gotta do, so we both donned warm outerwear for our morning walk.

I wore a hoodie under my new warm coat . My dog Valentino was warm and comfy in his new dog sweater .

Valentino took care of business quickly, watering the trees in our neighborhood. Then we headed back home so I could have my morning mug of hot coffee while he ate his breakfast of kibbles flavored with warmed-up pumpkin.

The forecast high today is 34 degrees, feeling like 22, and partly sunny. You can count on us to take short but sweet walks in the chilly today!

Sheesh, Ruthie! Valentino doing his business all over the internet? How embarrassing! LOL He's gonna have to go to a doggy shrink now.

V's not shy, nor am I, hahaha!

Oh, great! I guess we have photos of you going outside to tinkle to look forward to. ROFLMAO

You are so funny, but I think we 'll keep those views hidden, LOL

Glad I have a fenced in yard lol

Lucky you, sure wish I did too! I love walking my dog and we both need the exercise but it's not as much fun in the wintertime as it is in the summer!

The colder temperatures do seem to help our dogs keep their outdoor time down to short intervals.

yes its quite chilly over here too, our dog takes her sweet old time doing her bussiness no matter how cold it is outside

RuthCox wrote on December 19, 2015, 1:17 PM

It does indeed! Thankfully, V doesn't seem to mind that our walks are shorter, for the most part.

Thank goodness the cold seems to aid in my dog taking care of business more quickly so we can get back indoors where it's warm!

When its warm I take the 2 out back to play, the other 2 I dont trust loose with the chickens

We do not need any protection for our dogs here as the weather is just right although Preiti will sleep away till late in the mornings when the weather turns a bit chilly.
I see Valentino is busy watering your neighour's plants (lol)

RuthCox wrote on December 19, 2015, 9:42 PM

Good thinking. I don't think I'd trust my Coonhound with chickens either!

Good for you on the perfect weather for you and your dogs. I've noticed that Valentino takes his morning walk then climbs into my bed for a long morning nap on chilly days!

Sadie, hubbies beagle, tries to give them baths lol Then Duke was a year old when I got him and I just have not took him out to work on it with the way the summer went this year.

Valentino is definitely in the Christmas spirit with his red sweater!

RuthCox wrote on December 26, 2015, 9:51 PM

Yes he is! Thankfully the red will get him through the winter. Maybe we'll get green next year!
