Wednesday Writing Prompt for December 9, 2015

My Introductory post .

The prompt for today is: cookies

This is what I wrote:

Tis the season for holiday cookies. What my mom does is one day we’ll bake a couple batches of cookies and put most of them in the freezer. We’ll do this a few times, making various types, and then when we do get together for Christmas, we’ll just take a bunch out of the freezer. It’s a way to not have to make everything last minute. Of course, about a week ago we made a batch of chocolate chip and one of peanut butter cookies. We put a few dozen of each in the freezer, but freezer cookies make for a good midnight snack. I’m not sure if any of those will survive to Christmas. Which means we just have to make more, I guess.

How do you handle the cookie season?

It had been a family tradition when my kids were young to make chocolate chip cookies at Christmas time but they didn't stay around long. We usually one made one big batch of cookies.

I will start making stuff by Monday at the latest. If I make them any earlier we just eat them all and I still need more but the first batches will be going to Moms on the 19th so I will not be freezing them.

I handle cookie season by volunteering to be quality control on the batches my wife and son bake.
