My Favourite Place
Disclaimer: I'd uploaded everything but the second paragraph in Bubblews before the site went down, consequently losing most of the article I had written (because I was an idiot and didn't save my work after I published) - thus former Bubblers might find this familiar. ^_^

My absolute favourite place in the world is a small clearing in a forest. The birds chirp cheerily around me and I can feel the sun trickling in through branches of the trees. It’s so peaceful here. There are no people that I need to interact with, food comes easily and naturally from surrounding bushes, and I have all the companions that I need – the curious bunnies, the hungry squirrels, and the serenading robins. The flowers that surround the clearing are so beautiful, it’s like I’m sitting in the middle of a faery circle. It doesn’t hurt that they make the air smell so wonderful. And it’s here that I spend most of my day, reading the books that I like, drinking hot tea from a tumbler, and writing when I feel like it, with the thick roots acting as a natural desk.
The solidarity of the place always comforts me. I can yell, scream, or cry, and the clearing will always be there for me, embracing me in its natural presence, soothing my wounded heart and mind with the chattering of wild life. This is the one place that I truly feel like I can be myself, and no one will care – and so here I let myself go; laughing as loud as I please, whenever I please; yelling my frustrations to the darkening sky with words that would make a sailor proud; sobbing into the branches of my beloved tree when I feel like I am all alone in this horrible, terrible truth that I like to call ‘reality.’
My absolute favourite place… doesn’t exist. But in my mind it does, and that’s all that matters. I can take refuge here whenever I want, and I don’t need to move from where I am to reach it.
Do you have a favourite place? It doesn’t have to be imaginary, like mine is. It could be as real as the fingers that type on your keyboard! ^_^

My favorite place is my home and a patch of woods in my backyard. It can be so peaceful to walk in this area of woods especially in the season of Autumn when the leaves are changing.

I often get lost in my game, TheSims4. But once, a long time ago, back in the year 1975 I was at the edge of Lake Michigan, looking at the vast waters ahead with a wall of evergreens behind me. It was a summer night, cool breezes in my face, the stars out shining bright. For moment I felt like I was in a place of perfect calm. I could have stood there, looking at the waves and sipping on hot coffee for the rest of the night, but my friend was anxious to get to the rainbow festival so I woke up from my dream state and hit the road once more.

I get lost in video games, too. ^_^ (These days it's League of Legends, but I used to be enthralled in Minecraft and Skyrim) Lake Michigan sounds absolutely stunning! I don't recall ever being there, so I shall have to make it a point to visit sometime in the future. ^_^

I do not have an all time absolutely favorite place. It keeps changing from time to time.
