A New Healthy Drink for Me

I am always looking for ways to improve my health - call it a hobby. For the most part, I am maintaining my health. I am always open to products that appear healthful unless I hear otherwise.

Today, while doing my normal ritual of cruising around Whole Foods, there was a demonstration for the drink in my photo. I drink a lot of water and sometimes green tea or other various kinds of teas. I was drawn to this demonstration, because it was something different and it appeared to have great benefits in boosting energy. I am not a fan of the current energy drinks and I believe that if you eat the right foods, exercise on a regular basis, and get plenty of rest, you should not need any types of energy drinks. However, this drink claims to have twice the antioxidants of most green teas. That caught my attention!

Also, this drink is sweetened with organic cane sugar, but relies on the drink itself for most of the sweetness by not including tannins found in most teas. A 14-ounce drink is only 50 calories and contains a total of 14g of carbohydrates.

I purchased lemon lemongrass, because it was one of the flavors on special today. I first had a small sample to be sure that I would enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth flavor and the slight sweetness. It was perfect! So I bought two bottles to drink at a rate of one per day. I wanted to see if I noticed any additional boost in energy from the way I normally feel. Considering I had a great workout this morning, it is really hard to tell. However, I still like the extra dose of antioxidants!

The photo image was taken by me of the drink I purchased.

Sounds good. I stopped drinking bottled iced tea after I realized it was loaded with HFCS.

I rarely drink anything bottled. It was a good try, but I did not notice any additional energy. Not that I need more since I do eat healthfully and exercise daily, but I was curious and it was something different from water. I have not bought any more since this post. You make a very good point.
