Didn't mean to disappear

Had a lovely week off for the holiday, but my computer puked and it was quite a few days before the hubby got it back up and running again. Then my brain wasn't up for doing much writing, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Finally warmed up last night. We've dry snow on the ground. Most of last week was quite frozen and everything was covered in frost for several days running. Very pretty:

Still not ready for snow, but it is pretty out. Won't be lasting long tho, temps up in the low 40s the rest of the week.

We will be getting new windows for the house in a couple of weeks. Had enough left from the settlement to pay for them outright (saved on credit card fees) and once they are installed we will submit for a rebate from our electric company. We will have them credit it to our account so that will go towards bills for a few months.

Thanksgiving went well, 1st formal sit down dinner in 20 years. It is so nice to have my dining room set back in one place. My mom and aunt were there and a friend from work. I made enough to feed a small army, so I have plenty of leftovers to draw on for meals this month. Carcass is in the deep freeze and I hope to borrow a pressure canner over the winter break so I can make and can some stock. I am down to one quart in the pantry! THE HORROR!!!!!! LOL!

It's nice to see you back! Enjoy the snow. We did have a little bit for a few days, but then it just melted, as it got warmer.
