Decorating with Lights at Christmas

Mr. B (my roommate) and I used to be pretty really into decorating for Christmas, particularly colored Christmas lights out front.

One thing I really liked the look of when I did it was, the lights wrapped around the trunk of the dogwood tree that sits right in the middle of our front patch (yard).

Mr B laughs about the idea and I'm still not clear why. When it's done well, and the lights are tight and close together, it really oulines the tree nicely.

And if you have enough lights so you can wrap the lights around some of the branches, that's even better.

We also have metal pillars at the front of the porch and he'd wrap lights around the two of them. And then the bush to the left of the porch would also get its lights.

But now a days, we don't seem to have it in us. This year part of it is because we will need to move in April.

How about you? Will you be decorating your house with lights this year?

I haven't decorated or put up a tree in 20 years, but one time in 2007.

That's a long time. We stopped a couple years ago. We've become scrooges around here. Actually I think we both have depression and it's gotten worse with age and it probably gets worse during the Winter. SAD

We never have gotten into outdoor decoration -- not even lights.
