Hopefully The Worst Is Over
Last night was very scary! I have never saw anything quite like it before, even with my Grandma. Today, seems to be a lot better. I'm not saying she isn't hurting some, but she isn't hysterically crying and saying random things. It was something else. I just wanted her to go to sleep to put an end to it all. I thought about calling the number they gave us, but they weren't very helpful last time. It's sad when the laws that are meant to help, actually cause more problems for the people who need the help!
What I mean by this is the Nurse couldn't call the Doctor and have him call some stronger pain reliever in and if need-be my Dad couldn't just go pick it up. Are you seeing the problem with this? My Mom was in such horrible pain, but she would have had to wait until the next day or later to see the Doctor. Then, after all that trouble when she would just want to go home, she would personally have to be present to pick up her pain reliever. It's nonsense!
Here's the best part, when my Grandma was on hospice she had Morphine and other medicine delivered right to her door, having only saw a nurse! I get it, totally different scenario. But, you shouldn't have to dying to get such a personalized quality of care. If you are seriously in pain and they know you should be, I think you should have access to whatever you need to make that pain stop. Why can't people just use common sense anymore? Things shouldn't have to be so complicated.
