It's Gonna Be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG Night!

It's already 12am and I still say it's gonna be a loooooooong night! My Mom is in a lot of pain and I haven't THE foggiest idea how to help! I've tried distracting her with cute YouTube videos and TV, but they were no real use. Honestly, I'm a bit awkward in these situations. I know nothing I can do will really help, but I'm a solution focused individual. When there's nothing I can do, I just feel helpless and end up standing there quietly unsure of what to do next..

It's not that I don't care, of course, just that I'm at a complete loss of what in the world to do! I don't have a magic wand and I'm not a Doctor so, I'm pretty much helpless to fix the problem.. Yeah, this could seem like an endless night!

I pray your Mom's pain will subside quickly so you both can have a good night and a good sleep.

What kind of pain is it and where is she experiencing it? Maybe if you called a nurse, you could get some advice about how to lessen your mother's pain.

I am not sure what is going on with your Mom, but I hope that she feels some relief soon. It is difficult when you are on the sidelines, and are helpless to do something to assist. Please take care of you, too!

Usually it's the guy who is the solution-seeker. Sometimes just being there and listening is all you can do. But that is still helpful.

Hop she starts feeling better fast. Just you being there is helping even if you dont know it

I'm sorry to hear that your mom isn't feeling well. I do hope that she feels better. Maybe just being there is what she needs the most from you. Sometimes that's enough.

Sometimes there is NO solution to a problem. In those circumstances you have to let your mom guide you as to what is needed, whether it's distraction or silence. There are relaxation and meditation MP3s on line which can help some people manage their pain a little better. You can search on Google. The first one I found was this https://www.meditainment.com/pain-management I have NOT tried it, I do not know the quality but it may be one more tool to help your mother manage her pain.

Thank you. We were finally able to fall asleep around three am, I guess. We both just fell asleep and woke up around four. Then, she went to the kitchen by my Dad and I went to bed. Today, she seems better. She isn't crying so much. It was scary!

She had surgery yesterday to have the tip of her finger amputated. She said her whole hand hurt really bad.

She had her surgery yesterday. Thank you. We both fell asleep and woke up again at four. I went back to sleep and I guess, she eventually did too. She seems to be better today.
