I like persona paper because my feel like I can write anything. I joined Mylot, but I am afraid to start disscussions. They have a rule that you can not post personal milestones, such as birthdays and anniversaries. It doesn't have a full list of what a personal milestone is. That makes me very nervous. Maybe it's because our bubble burst with no chance of getting out content. Since I don't know what all of the personal milestones are, I'm scared I'll mess it all up. I asked over there on a post, but I'm new so my question didn't get answered.
I know that a milestone is something used to judge distance between things. I googled a list of personal milestones and it listed things like learning a new skill, first day of school, falling in love, moving in with someone and more. Should I just avoid everything personal? Should I just give up? Can someone here who understands mylots explain this to me? Help!
Well, I would ask the admins about that. They are usually pretty quick to answer. Also, if for some reason you do break a rule, they warn you and let you know. They won't simply just delete you and your content. Everyone there seems very nice and helpful.
I have seen a few posts about birthdays and such there. But if that is their rule then I am sure they will abide by them. I do know that they are still changing things there. So that might change in time. You can send a private message to the admin there @GoAskAlex . he will answer that question for you.
I would examine a lot of the posts on myLot to give you a feel for what people are writing. If you see others talking about personal milestones, I would do the same. Don't be that afraid.
Hope you find the answer to your question soon. Have heard of MyLot but haven't joined. I wonder how it's like over there? Do you also get paid for writing stuff there? Is it similar to Persona Paper?
I don't know if I UNDERSTAND myLot. But I can tell you my experience at that site so far has been pleasant. With respect to “personal milestones”, I wasn't even aware of that writing rule. So far I have initiated about 80+ discussions. Some get reactions, some don't. What I like about myLot is that I don't have to write anything or initiate a discussion. There are plenty of discussions going on already and I just need to add in my “two cents”. So, by comparison to PersonaPaper – I like PP for blogging and commenting; and I like ML for chatting and don't feel any pressure to create my own discussion thread. You earn at both sites, either way. Your bank is very easy to check. Hope this helps you decide what to do.
Also, if you have any questions, the myLot Admin is very helpful.
Also, there are some people who initiate really good discussions, so I usually just go see what they're talking about and chime in. :)

OK, I still don't know who the admins are, Alex, is that the guy I need? Do I pm them a message, or do I email them?

I just decided not to write about any of that stuff there to be safe.

I am trying to just write about general things not milestones.

Pretty much what he said right here. You can just PM him and he will most likely answer you rather quickly.

I am not sure. I think it would be fine the milestones. But I guess how I can see that they would be banned. I hope you find you answer.
