We survived the earthquake
There was a very strong earthquake in our region at 2:09 pm on Monday. Some reports say it was as massive as 8.1 on Richter Scale but some reports say it was about 7.5.
The earthquake was felt in India , Pakistan and Afghanistan but luckily for the people, the depth of the earthquake limited its severity. There are reports of houses and schools that have been damaged but the death toll is much less than the horrific earthquake that struck 10 years ago in 2005.
Still it was a very horrible experience. I was actually writing a post for Persona Paper when I felt the first tremors. I just grabbed my little daughter and took the keys on my way out of the house.
I rushed to the children's school and was happy that everyone was safe and sound. The communication lines were down for the initial 10-15 minutes so there was a bit of panic as my family tried to call me and i was trying to call hubby but calm ensued after the initial panic.
There have been reports of aftershocks but I have not felt any. Earthquakes are really scary because there is usually no initial warning like in case of floods or hurricanes.
I am happy I am getting the opportunity to write another post for Persona Paper.
