How long has it been taking people to get approved lately?

Hello all,

My name is Jeramey and when I was looking for new places to write, I was excited by what I had read about Persona Paper. This seemed like my number one choice, and I put in applications to register here, HubPages, Wikinut, and Triond.

Persona Paper took well over a week to approve me! Triond took well over three days to publish my first piece/submission, and hasn't published my second in 5 more days and I haven't gotten a single view. However, HubPages and Wikinut have both accepted and welcomed me, and my brand=new articles are doing quite well in terms of views, comments and feedback.

My main concern with this process and my experience with Persona Paper so far, is if it takes 7 business days (a week and a half basically) to do something as simple as approve a new applicant, what are people doing when they have problems and need customer support? Or, more worrisome, are people actually getting paid or just watching their virtual coins go up? If there's some dispute how long does one wait for a response?

Any advise or shared experience is welcome, I hope my first experience here was just bad luck, but I am already disappointed

I am sorry for your disappointment, Jeramey, but do understand it. Even when I joined Persona Paper over a year ago it took a while for my introductory post to be approved. Members are actually being paid and in a timely fashion. I can point you to member CoralLevang as just one of many who have reached redemption and been paid.

I hope you'll not give up on Persona Paper just yet and get your feet wet here a bit. I think you'll be amazed at the true interaction here in the community.

Hi Jeramey ! Welcome. As with all people who live their lives, we all have moments when it takes some time to make things happen. In the world of "instant gratification" that we all seem to which we all seem to be accustomed, a week may seem like a "long time." There are other sites for which I have applied that it has taken a week or two to be approved. If you had not been approved, we wouldn't have able to read this! So, welcome!

I am typically here more often, but am on the road with a big training project, so I have not been able to welcome others and interact this last week or so. I still have two or more? weeks to go. The site owners/managers also work, just keep interacting, get to know people, and do what you can. If you stay positive, and seek to move forward, just keep doing it and find those who want the support and interaction. You will find them here. If you get caught up in the negatives, and that's what drive you in life, then you will find that, too. That is all up to you.

I encourage you, as did Feisty56 , to not give up so soon, and look to follow people who are active, positive, and helpful. Personalities here as anywhere in life's situations are a diverse as they are anywhere.
Some of the people I would recommend you follow and start getting your feet wet, as Feisty said, are her, MegL , AliCanary , &AbbyG , DWDavisRSL , wolfgirl569 ... just as a start. You will find each of them to be wonderful folks ... funny, helpful, knowledgeable, and positive. There are many others. Each of them has written a lot, so I would encourage you to read back.... We have teachers, retirees, PhD students, artists, customer service folks, and so many more that are here. Read. Comment. Write. Interact. That's the name of the game.

Hi Jeramey , once your first post has been approved, you can post your articles as you choose, no waiting, provided you stick to a maximum of 15 a day and 10 minutes between posts. It takes a while for the first post to be approved because it's by a real person and helps cut down on spam emoticon

Hi, it takes time to get approved here on your first post as you have seen because they want to keep spam down. But myself and CoralLevang can both assure you that they do pay in a timely fashion. I know she gave you a list of names to check out to follow also. They are all very good and friendly. Also please keep in mind that this site is run by a couple who has children and lives outside of here. So even if things seem a little slow they are there and interested in fixing problems as fast as they can. Hope you love it here.

First let me thank CoralLevang for the shout out. Jeramey , welcome to Persona Paper and I do hope that you give the site a chance. As Coral and Feisty56 both indicated, there are lots of folks who contribute here on the site regularly and in interesting, positive ways. Once you get to know us, I think you'll find landing here was a good decision.

Great, thanks. I hoped it wouldn't be as bad as it seemed, but that was worrisome for a spell. Thanks for the kind words.

Wow! That's a lot of helpful content there, Coral, thanks I really appreciate it and will be taking it into practice. Cheers!

Yeah, I've gathered that now. Just a really awkward time, waiting for all those days, something like 7 business days to prove I'm not spam, just wondering if my experience was typical for any other newbies.

Great! That's really reassuring to know. Thanks for the comment and the advice.

Sorry to hear that. I never had any problems when I joined here that is why I am wondering why you had that

When I got approved in January of this year, it took a few days. One of the reasons it is taking a longer time for approvals now is because there are only two administrators of this site and they also have other job and family duties. I would suggest following MaeLou and she can tell you what is presently happening on Persona Paper. Yes, some of my followers have recently received payment after hitting the $20 threshold. Welcome to Persona Paper!

Hello and a very warm welcome to Persona Paper. I hope you enjoy writing here. Payment here is very prompt, provided of course, you have not broken any rules. If you have any questions, just ask. we are a very friendly community here emoticon
