Living Out of a Suitcase

I have checked into the new hotel, and trying to get a little settled before my sister gets in. Her flight is scheduled to arrive about 9:30 p.m. and she will take the airport shuttle to the hotel, unless something comes up and the shuttle is not running and I will come to get her.

I plan on leaving about 9:45 to head down to El Pollo Loco to get something for us to eat to bring back to the room. We have a refrigerator and microwave, so no place to cook, like I had in the last place. (But they do have a hot breakfast here. The last place was instant oatmeal, coffee and granola bars.) Hopefully, I will get back before she arrives.

I have unpacked some, but realized that I packed way too much stuff. I am going to keep most packed, and will pull things out that I need, if I do not have it out already. It has been a long time since I have been on-the-road and living out of a suitcase. I will know better next time.

I still have work to do. I need to see about whether the hotel will scan some evaluations and email them to me, so that I can email them to the Project Manager. I also have to compile some other information and get it to one of the team leads. They want them tonight.

Tomorrow, my sister and I have a conference call, and we will get updated information on the project (more changes), and I have to get her up to par on where we are and get through a few hours of study. Hopefully, she can help me set up these two Chromebooks and download the presentations. I am having a tough time figuring it out.

I also need to find a secure line to access my bank to pay my bills. I may see if my friend will allow me to do so. I probably should call the companies and pay it over the phone, but I do not even want to look at my bank account. That is one of the things that is crazy about traveling. There is no security that I know of for information.

Well, hope everyone is doing well. Take care and be well!

A lot of hotels now have a business center in or near the lobby where you can make copies, send faxes, and scan documents as well as use a PC if you don't have your own. I know your sister will appreciate your planning to have a meal ready when she gets there as I imagine she will be ready for a late supper after her flight.

Hope you get everything done and can get a good nights rest also.

Their "business center" consists of a computer and a printer. They offered to scan the documents for me, and they did, but they never arrived to two different email addresses (tried twice). I just took pictures, four at a time, to email. *rolls eyes*

Living out of a suitcase almost sounds like living out of a backpack - except there isn't a business center or a hotel. 😀

I hope this traveling and visiting your sister all goes well for you and you stay safe.

You seem to be adjusting well to all the somewhat new experiences and even to Central time.

Been there, done that with the bills and traveling. I try to schedule them to be paid before I go, and estimate the amount if there is no regular payment that comes out. Then I just have to bear the interest until I get to the next one. Not so bad really if I know the approximate amount, and if I pay over, then that's less for the next month.
