Zebras, Interesting Things I Didn't Know About Them

Zebra's are an amazing animal and there are things I didn't know about them until today. There are three species of Zebras. One is called the Gravy, the other the Plains and the other the Mountain. They are very fast and can gallop up to 65 miles per hour across the plains. The stripes on a Zebra keep the animal cool from the incoming heat of the desert. The stripes are like human finger prints, each pattern is unique. The stripes are also used as camouflage against predators. They are social animals. Two of the species are close where some of the males live together with six breeding females. They sleep standing up just like horses. They travel in groups to protect themselves. They were also used in ancient Rome in Chariot Races.

Gravy's zebra sounds tasty - especially with potatoes!

I had never heard of Zebras being used in chariot races but having studied some of the things the Romans did I cannot say I'm surprised.

Do you happen to know which country in the world has the most zebras?
