The Egg and I and a Colleague
They had quite a nice menu and their coffee and the service was good at the location down the street from the extended-stay hotel we are staying in. I made my selection from the Smarter Choices section.
The Vera Cruz Chicken & Avocado Omelette is "an egg white omelette with grilled chicken, fresh tomatoes, onions and green chiles. With Jack and Cheddar cheeses and fresh avocado." I had them hold the cheese. It was delicious. Both the chicken and the egg.
My colleague and I went over a bit of the program we are facilitating, as we were eating. I think we both are similar in that we get a bit on over-drive and need time to focus (by ourselves).
We are back at the hotel, and meeting again at noon, so we can find the location, meet our client contacts, and set up the rooms before the participants arrive and training begins. Once the first class begins at 3:00 (mine starts at 4:00), we will go until 11:30 tonight, then pack up and get back to the hotel with our first day behind us.
I have a new company laptop with which I need to familiarize (technology IS my friend, right? That needs to be my mantra instead of dreading it). It is "crunch time" for me, and I have two hours to look again at the presentation and my guide, just so I am not surprised by a slide I have not seen before. I know I will be fine, once I find my stride.
I am still not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg . But what I can tell you is that I am glad that The Egg and I is where I started my day with a high-protein breakfast, so that I will not crack (*groan*) under the pressure of the day.
