Having Trouble Getting Moving

Nearly 9 a.m. and I am still wrapped up in my towel from my shower. I have been reviewing the modules that we will teach. I really am trying to wrap my head around the "ice breaker" that has been mandated. It does not quite make sense yet to me.

I need to get dressed and get on the road, so I can get to T-town. I am going to try to get a manicure and pedicure while I am out there at my favorite salon.

Before I go, I plan on throwing a load of clothes in the washing machine. I need to gather up trash and take it to the bin. Perhaps, unload the dishwasher. I also wanted to go to the bank, but it is closed today.

I have a couple of other articles brewing. I hope to post two or three more before midnight tonight.

Time to skedaddle for now. Enjoy your day.

Hey Now!!! Is it a short towel? LOL. Joking. What you need is a nice massage before you get ready to leave. That will relax you and motivate you.

The ice breaker is just a fun activity to get to know your student participants. My professors used to use the 'Name Game'. Form a circle and start at a point state their name and a special quality they have. Each following person will say the names that came before them. The more names to remember the harder it becomes and the more fun it becomes. I was a student that was halfway around the circle and I had 15 names to say. This is only a suggestion. Good luck.

It's new math, Dawnwriter ! LOL Thanks for the "catch!" emoticon :winking:

Some ice breakers can be more trouble than they are worth. I quite liked the one using index cards that you wrote interesting titbits on, then they are all mixed up and you draw one and try to find the person who wrote it by meeting fellow participants but you can only ask one question of each.

It would relax me...but the motivation would be such that I wouldn't get packed emoticon :winking: ...and I might have to teach a class in only a towel. I'm afraid that would scare them all away. LOL

Oh, have you heard the "snowball" one? Similar concept.

I'll tell you about it in email. emoticon :winking:

Unfortunately, they have all been decided for us for continuity sake between classes.

When I had education seminars, most of the presenters showed us how to do "ice breakers" with group activities. Will you use a lot of grouping and group activities during your presentations?

Okay. I hear you. After the massage you would be way too relaxed to move. But then again, why move. I would be able to motivate you. Again, joking.
