Not one for jewelry...but..

The other day when I was going into Wal-Mart I spotted the dog tag kiosk. You know the one I'm talking about right? The one where you pick the design and wording and then the machine engraves it.

I was looking for something that I could have personalized and when I saw the machine I figured I could do it with one of the dog tags, and the more I thought about it the more I liked it. So I picked out a dog tag style and then entered the wording I wanted on it.

When I paid for it, I noticed that they had necklace length chains as well for sale in the machine so I bought one of those too.

I'm not really one to wear a lot of jewelry but this is special to me, so I bought the chain, and after a little bit of frustration I got the tag attached to the chain. And now am wearing my newly made jewelry.

The whole necklace cost me $8.00 to make. Which is probably the cheapest that I would be able to find personalized necklace. It might be a little out of the ordinary, but I was never really one to follow the crowd anyway.

Quite like the idea of a personalised dog tag. I already have a cross (Godmother's confirmation present) and a rope chain (parents' 18th present) though so hardly need anything else round my neck. My ID bracelet is the closest to a dog tag that I have, and that is not work safe so only gets worn when I'm out and about away from the office.

I think the personalized dog tag is a great way to go, and without the investment of a large sum of money. I'm glad you're happy to be wearing it.

I don't do flashy jewelry. So this made the most sense to me. I can't remember the last time I wore a necklace lol.

I figured this way it would be water and weather proof and since I'm gearing up to start fishing and stuff both those things are important. Lol..
