Two Hours in This Parking Spot

As much as I would love to park my butt in this bed reading and writing, I need to make sure that I have a life outside of the computer. I work hard to be consistent here, but often at the price of balance of the other things that I want to accomplish, and sleep. I did manage six hours sleep last night.

Yesterday I stopped at a Starbucks for a coffee, taking the book, Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, with me. I spent a couple of non-stop hours reading and I am now within 100 pages (or two-thirds) of being finished, though it had taken me 10 days to get through the first two chapters. I might have been finished, but I ran into a couple that had been in my class more than a year ago, and they wanted to chat. It is the price I pay for notoriety. emoticon :winking:

Tomorrow, I will have to leave my place about 6 a.m. to pick RGD up and help him. He has his follow-up appointment after surgery, and then all of his end-of-month rituals--banking, post office, grocery shopping, and whatever else he does on a schedule. I purposely blocked the entire day off so I can assist him, which I am happy to be able to do. He and I live a much different life. It is a wonder that we ever lived together as long as we did (10 years). I think we make much better friends than we ever did anything else.

So, what is on my agenda today?

  • Finish this book ( OITNB )
  • Watch the movie, Mud , tonight
  • Unload dishes from dishwasher
  • Make phone call to Liz re: possible upcoming contract gig
  • Take a walk in the fresh air.

Two and a half hours now. Thank goodness there is not a parking ticket taped to my forehead.

Good luck with all your endeavors today, and drive safe tomorrow!

I bet you really enjoy "Mud." It has been a long term since I too have rooted for a character in.a love story.

It's been raining non-stop here and even though it is a light drizzle, it's still rain. I have been on and off the laptop as well as on the treadmill trying to work my way up to 15 miles a day (have a waaayyyy to go on that goal) so I'm sort of half productive today

You got to do what you go to do when and wherever you are.

6 hours sleep in one go is great. I don't often get that either, though I don't stay up as late as you.

Hope you get everything done today and that RGDs check up goes great tomorrow

One of the interesting perks of having a handicapped parking placard due to my rotten hip is that I can ignore time limitations on parking spaces.

I hope RGD is doing well with his recovery.

Thank goodness no parking police in the bedroom -- that could get pricey and dicey!

Hope you have accomplished all the things that you had included in your agenda.I liked the fact that you put ''Take a walk in the fresh air'' in the list.

With all of the things you do every day, it amazes me that you still find a lot of time for PP. I wish I could do all of the things you do.

Since I am a working mom with all those juggling household chores to be done, I have not time reading a lot like I used to before.

We all have lives outside of the online world. We need to. Otherwise we would be like robots. You have a nice itinerary today. I have a long day tomorrow myself actually. And with the rain coming I know it is going to take longer than it should.

Psst. That was two days ago. emoticon :winking:

Sorry, I sometimes never look at the dates of the posts. But you got my drift anyway. Nice!!!

I haven't heard of that book. Have you reviewed it for us here yet?
