Two Hours in This Parking Spot
As much as I would love to park my butt in this bed reading and writing, I need to make sure that I have a life outside of the computer. I work hard to be consistent here, but often at the price of balance of the other things that I want to accomplish, and sleep. I did manage six hours sleep last night.
Yesterday I stopped at a Starbucks for a coffee, taking the book, Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, with me. I spent a couple of non-stop hours reading and I am now within 100 pages (or two-thirds) of being finished, though it had taken me 10 days to get through the first two chapters. I might have been finished, but I ran into a couple that had been in my class more than a year ago, and they wanted to chat. It is the price I pay for notoriety.
Tomorrow, I will have to leave my place about 6 a.m. to pick RGD up and help him. He has his follow-up appointment after surgery, and then all of his end-of-month rituals--banking, post office, grocery shopping, and whatever else he does on a schedule. I purposely blocked the entire day off so I can assist him, which I am happy to be able to do. He and I live a much different life. It is a wonder that we ever lived together as long as we did (10 years). I think we make much better friends than we ever did anything else.
So, what is on my agenda today?
- Finish this book ( OITNB )
- Watch the movie, Mud , tonight
- Unload dishes from dishwasher
- Make phone call to Liz re: possible upcoming contract gig
- Take a walk in the fresh air.
Two and a half hours now. Thank goodness there is not a parking ticket taped to my forehead.
