Health Update for September 2015

I read over the last update I did here back in April so I would know what I needed to fill y'all in on. So here goes.

I still haven't been able to lose any weight to speak of. I am down 11.6 pounds but I've been there for months and months now. Stopping the beta blocker didn't seem to help on that front. My doctors are as stumped as I am. I have lowered my carbs even more and I am exercising, which all helps my other health issues but doesn't seem to be doing much for my weight. I will just keep on keeping on I guess.

Stopping the beta blocker did help in other ways. My lung function tests got back to normal after three months off the beta blocker, which is wonderful news. I hated taking the inhalers. My TSH and other thyroid tests were also normal after being out of whack for three years and my liver test went down from almost four times normal to just slightly above normal. I'm not sure it will ever go back in the normal range, but just above is a lot better and as long as it holds there I'll be good. That beta blocker was just messing with my whole system and I am so glad I found a heart doc who agreed to wean me off it.

The doc said as long as the premature beats and palpitations don't get too bad I can stay off of the beta blocker. If the extra and fast beats do get too bad I would have to go back on a low dose. So far, it's not terrible. I do have more palpitations and my heart rate stays higher, but I'm not feeling like I'm going to pass out or anything. I go back to see him in November so we'll see what he says then.

Nothing much else to report. The fibro is still kicking my butt and I'm still being stubborn and doing too much...lol. I will let y'all know if anything changes.

Glad you got off that medication, when it was making you feel so awful.

Sorry to hear about the fibryalgia. Maybe you don't need to lose more weight. Maybe you're already hawt. Punch your doctor in his eye. :)

Glad you are feeling better over all. Maybe it will just take more time yet for the weight. I am sure they have but in case not, has your thyroid been checked. It can mess with weight also

Thanks, me too. My new docs couldn't believe I was on 150mg a day and still able to function.

Yeah, my thyroid levels are all finally in the normal range again after years of being out of whack.

Well then, punch her in the eye. And tell her she's just being jealous and petty.

I'm glad you were able to get off the beta blocker. I'm of the opinion that the less drugs we take, the better off we are.

Me too. I wouldn't take any meds if I didn't have to. Unfortunately, I have to take my thyroid and heart meds or I would die.
