A Glorious Autumn Sunday Morning Update

Today's sky is clear and sunshine is coming through my window. The temperature is already 56F/13.3C and the forecast calls for completely clear skies for the next three days. This will mean some cool nights, like last night, dipping down to the mid- to high-40s F/ 8-10C.

I am pleased it will be clear tonight, as I have plans on attending one of the social Meetup groups, Peninsula Singles Boomer Zoomers, for a scheduled meetup--Blood Moon-Full Eclipse and Happy Hour. I have not attended many get-togethers with this group, so I do not really know many of them, but it will be nice just to get out to "ooh" and "aah" over the beauty that nature gives us once in a while. I have to remember to bring my coat, though it will likely be about the temperature it is right now.

Last night I finished watching Homeland: Season 2. I have only one more series, Scandal: Season2 , from the library on my shelf. I was notified that the movie, Mud , is on the hold shelf, so I will pick that up tomorrow. I also noticed on the library's website that I have a couple of other seasons of shows that I should have available within the next few weeks, including Season 5 of Downton Abbey .

I just got off the phone with RGD, and he sounds as if he is feeling pretty good. He is rather sore, of course, but he is starting to get back to more normalcy. He has a follow-up appointment on Wednesday when they will remove the catheter. I know he is going to be happy not to be tethered to that apparatus.

I also received a text message from my daughter yesterday. It was not really a message, but it was a photo of her new temporary driver's license showing her return to a name she chose when she was nine-years-old. So, I guess that means she is Ms. Levang, Jr. and I am Sr. (No, she and I do not share the same first and middle names, but just thought that this would make for a good chuckle.)

I am getting rather hungry, so I think I am going to go shower, get dressed, and go to the brunch buffet at one of the casino restaurants not too far away. I have always enjoyed brunch, and the made-to-order omelets. I would like to get there before the after-church crowd gets there, but I think that may be wishful thinking.

Have a glorious fall day. Here it is very dull, but the wind is whipping through my laundry and it will be dry in no time. And smell fresh.

CoralLevang wrote on September 27, 2015, 2:36 PM

Ah, line-dried laundry is a thing that most of us haven't smelled in a very long time.

I can usually have fun wherever I go, Happy Hour or otherwise.

I hang it out always. Even in winter days when it rises above 0.

Its a little on the cool side today but it was amazing last night; we snuck in a single night of camping and I got to test out the modification I made on my tent.

I hope it worked out well. You really are a McGyver!

I wish i could have a nice place to go for brunch today instead of having to think up something for us to eat. Glad RGD is doing better.

I always liked the cool and sometimes frosty mornings along the creek where I grew up. I still remember those mornings and that is what got me through these very hot and humid summer days. Glad your friend is feeling better.

Is Mud the movie with Matthew McConaughey, in it? Did you get the made to order omelets and enjoy the brunch?

CoralLevang wrote on September 27, 2015, 5:57 PM

Yes, on Mud. No to brunch. Didn't make it out the door. LOL

Good to hear that RGD is doing well. I think I see why you did all the pumpkin articles - it's that time of the year. We are enjoying our own later summer here, very pleasant.
