The Freedom of Getting on with My Day

It has been two months since I last worked. I am not scheduled again for another month, and I am not sure just how I feel about going back. There is some freedom with not working. There is freedom lost when income is limited.

I have enjoyed not having to be "on" in classrooms. I have felt a sense of relief in being able to sit and do nothing, or get up and do everything. In these times, I can be where I want to be, when I want to be, and change my mind, if I decide to do so.

Today, I have been reading, and listening to a two-hour talk on Inspiration by Wayne Dyer. I needed to hear it today, and I highly recommend it.

It is imperative for me to get to the library today, so that is first on my list for the afternoon. The rest of the day I will let unfold as it seems to do whether or not I make plans.

"Freedom means you are unobstructed in living your life as you choose. Anything less is a form of slavery." ~ Wayne Dyer

I think you should add coming to have coffee with me to that list. :P

Freedom is okay, but you still have to do the things that need doing. Laundry springs to mind.

I enjoyed reading Wayne Dyer's books (or listening to them on tape).I see he only died earlier this year.

Glad you are at least mostly enjoying your free time. I am sure you will decide the right way for you when the time comes. Until then fly free and enjoy. emoticon

Freedom and freewill. Just being you in and out of the classroom or wherever.

I can relate to where your coming from as my time is mine to do with whatever I choose. I have been in social networking sites most of the day. Meeting new people, reading new posts and learning things as I go along. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, he died last month on 30th, I think. 75 years old.

I'm thinking Denver would be a good half-way point...or small-town South Dakota. Your choice.

Forget laundry. Just go buy new clean underwear. emoticon :winking:

Sometimes, there's more 'freedom' in time than in money. A lot of that has to do with your priorities. However, just as important is having a purpose . Now... If you can somehow balance purpose, freedom, and money, you've hit the jackpot.

It's nice not to have to work--but then there's that bill paying thing...

CoralLevang wrote on September 21, 2015, 7:40 PM

Well, that money thing has become an issue. :-/ But hanging in there, yet.

It's not about not having to work, at this point. Sometimes, unable to work, but not unable enough to get my SSDI. Stage 4 cancer, in my case, isn't "good enough"... *RME*

A colleague of mine is a fan of Wayne Dyer and she often posts links to his work on FB.

It sounds like a nice life to not have to be working except as you say for the freedom lost due to loss of funds.

Since I have been retired for the past 18 months, I certainly have all the freedom in the world to get on with my day. I wish I could do it more efficiently.

Not working have lots of freedoms. But as you said, there is no financial freedom. That is the only thing that lacks. But being busy, having something to do each day makes it all worth it.

You have a lot of time spending "me" time

I'm at the library right now, finally getting some work done on Persona Paper. I'm sad because my Wednesday class got cancelled because not enough people signed up. There goes eight weeks of income emoticon :crying:
