Morning Games With Ace

This is a picture of Ace just days after he joined our family near the end of January.

Ace has a game he loves to play every morning while I'm getting my lunch and making my coffee. He finds one of his squeaky toys and acts like he's going to bring it to me but when I reach for it he takes off at a run. Then I walk after him saying that I'm going to get that toy and send it flying. He'll stop in a corner of the living room and put it down. I'll pretend I'm sneaking up on him and quickly grab the toy and give it a few squeaks before tossing it across the living room. Depending on which corner of the room he stops in I might throw it into the kitchen or the office. He takes off after the toy and then when I walk toward him saying I'm going to get it he runs around the living room with it until he's ready for me to throw it again.

After a couple times with one toy, he puts that one in his crate and waits for me to pick another. We usually go through about three squeaky toys before he starts to tire and I call a halt to the game.

That sounds like a fun way to spend the morning. The squekers dont stay in tots very long around here

Your dog looks like my old dog Misty may she rest in peace after 15 years of love and fun. I had a game like that with my dog.

Remember, don't him die without knowing, he is the good boy and has always been.

Oh, that dog is a darling. He really is a complete softie. I trust you tell him that all the time?

I tell him all the time what a great dog he is and how glad I am that he came to live with us. I have a magnet on our camper of a big paw print and around it the words. "Who Saved Who?"

I tell him every day what a special boy he is and how much he means to me.

He wore out the squeaker on his new turkey toy the first day but he still loves the way the turkeys belly crinkles when he chews on it.

I know how much you must miss Misty. I've had to say good-bye over the years to some very special canine friends.

Ace is so adorable that he's broken K's rule against dogs sleeping in the bed with us. And she let him do it first one night when I was out late assisting at a class. I came home to find him snoozing curled up tight against my pillow.

Time will come that I can also get a pet like Ace. I miss having pets but its not easy for now to have one

My wife has insisted we always have at least one dog and one or two cats. She would not be comfortable in a home without furballs running around. I hope you do not have to wait too long before a furry companion can join your household.
