Working as full time freelance writer since 2008, Jc Torpey is a goth at heart with a love for all things geek who lives in Philadelphia, PA. Mostly self-taught, Jc combines her knowledge of the IT world with her customer service and management skills to create articles, blogs and web content that educates and engages the masses. Although she makes most of her living writing blogs and web content via her writing service, Jc is a hard news and politics junkie-turned-freelance journalist, and publishes on a variety of platforms. An active member of National Writers Union (Local 1981), the Philadelphia Area Computer Society, National Organization for Women - Philadelphia Chapter, and the Freelancer's Union, Jc is also a verified UniteBlue member and a participant in the StopRush campaign, both on and off Twitter. She works with and through these organizations to help advance the rights of women, writers, freelancers, and all humans. From computers and gadgets to the government, politics, news, and more, Jc lives to write and writes to make a living, while indulging her ever-increasing need for coffee – Starbucks French roast and Sumatra blends, to be specific. When she's not writing, you can find Jc immersed in anything that allows her to learn to fight the good fight, and to advance the rights of others everywhere while simultaneously studying to advance her knowledge in various topics and earn certifications pertaining to her writing career and IT background.
